Alright dudes the Tres bounty for 2011 has changed just a bit.  Not only is the course a touch different but the prize money this year is $500 to whomever can take this ol girl down.  That being said if you think you're going out to compete for the win you must use a GPS tracking system of some sort to confirm your overall time. 

OK so the new course is very similar to previous years with the exception that at the bottom of Wathan instead of going left on Spring Creek you hang a right and descend further all the way until intersects with Stout.  So if you're familiar with this part of Horsetooth you know that you'll basically have to keep veering left as if you don't watch it the Spring Creek trail more or less turns into the Horsetooth falls trail so hopefully this won't be too confusing.  Anyway continue on the Spring Creek trail until you reach Stout then hang a right headed towards the Towers road climb.  When you reach the towers road point it left and head all the way back up to Mill Creek.  So after that you're back on the same track as before headed down Mill Creek then up Howard and down Timber, then back across the valley to your vehicle.  We've basically just added a bit more climbing and made it a true 3 mountain ordeal.  Here's a link to last years loop so you can see the overall course if you're not familiar with what exactly makes up the Tres bounty to begin with.
